Indispensable bees need human support
Bees can be a nuisance at times, but they are integral to our lives. Studies estimate that one-third of all food eaten by Americans comes from plants pollinated by honeybees, constituting 130-plus separate types of fruits and vegetables, seeds and nuts. Local beekeepers are doing all they can to support the beneficial insects, and we can lend a hand, as well.
