New federal overtime rule goes into effect despite court ruling in Texas
A new Department of Labor rule making millions of currently exempt (salaried) workers eligible for overtime is now in effect— except for the state of Texas as an employer— after a judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas issued a limited injunction on June 29 in response to a lawsuit by that state’s attorney general.
