Book thrills middle school students with tales of Florida’s colorful history
The award-winning book Florida Heritage Kids: Adventures from Spanish Settlement to the Modern Era covers the period from the state’s founding to the Civil Rights era. It’s written for 9- to 12-year-old students by George S. LeMieux, Florida’s 34th U.S. senator and former state deputy attorney general, and Collier County journalist and author Laura E. Mize.
