Wildlife Conservation Film Festival CEO dies following Naples event
Wildlife Conservation Film Festival founder Christopher Gervais fought to end species extinction and conserve natural spaces while he battled the fight for his life with stage 4 liver cancer. He passed away at age 55 on Feb. 6, his mother said. Gervais was open about his health concerns during one of his last major conservation endeavors, bringing the WCFF to Naples. People from around the world gathered at Rookery Bay and The Burrow in late January to watch 40 films over several days, learning about different ways to protect species and natural spaces on the planet.
