Dreams, legacy in focus during Black History Month
Founded in 1956, the NAACP’s Collier County branch has an executive committee of 18 and more than 400 members that include representatives of Collier County across businesses, educational and professional sectors. The volunteer organization is funded through various groups and individuals and has been working since its founding to achieve human and civil rights, eradicate discrimination and advance the “well-being, education and economic security of Black people and all persons of color.” That mission is achieved through a series of educational programs.
