Local plays serve up reality in fairy tales and cellphone wars
Local theaters have leaned into reality midseason, with truth-based tales including Bonnie & Clyde: The Musical at TheatreZone and the trading-places trials of The Refugees at Gulfshore Playhouse. Two of the most starkly contrasting gazes into the real world, however, come from two theater offerings this week. One is based on actual email exchanges and details a protracted philosophical war. The other uses allegory to remind us that we live in harsh sunlight as well as romantic moonlight.
