Six Collier County classrooms received bushels of apples as their teachers were surprised with Golden Apple awards from Champions for Learning. In total, 60 teachers were nominated for their best practices in teaching as Teachers of Distinction representing 58 Collier County public schools. The Golden Apple Teacher recognition process is an opportunity to highlight teachers’ best practices and allows the community to see what’s happening inside the classrooms. The community-based selection committee observed each teacher in their classroom and identified the following teachers as Golden Apple recipients; three elementary and three secondary teachers:
